DVD-lab PRO 2.0

We believe the 2.0 will easily push the PRO among the very top full featured DVD authoring tools as we are adding the remaining features from the DVD specs.
Here is a quick preview of some of the new things in 2.0
- More compatible slideshow - in full GOP instead of I-frame
- Mega-Project with disk caching - this will cache data during designing into disk which will allow user to create project with huge amount of menus without windows crying for memory. With Mega-Project you can now create up to 640 menus per VTS!
- Each menu can have up to 30 cells inside where each cell can have its own set of buttons and other parameters.
- Smart Compile will recompile only the changed menu parts and keep the video vobs from previous compile. This way you can recompile menu changes within a minute!
- Multi-PGC title. The Segment Title has been now redone to a full Multi-PGC title. (Each segment in a Multi-PGC Title can now have its own pre and post commands)
- Audio Title can show new slide on each mark
- Pre and Post verificaton log
- Multiple Angles
- Buttons on Movies (Each chapter can have different buttons)
- Faster transition encoding
- native 24p support (Note: this is not 23.97 with pulldown)
- Simpler to use and more robust audio transcoder - can transcode any audo file for which you have codec
- Subviews in Conections - place certain project objects to a freely definable subview (up to 9 subviews) so you can work with them separate from the main “Global” connection view.
- VM Commands can be now placed not only before but also after the Dynamically generated commands
- Multiple selection in Connections
- Perspective Transformation of texts and other objects
- Package object in Menus
- Show VM commands in Connections
- Pause on chapters or at the end of movie (Continue by pressing Play button)

The already great menu capabilities are pushed in 2.0 to the max with some fresh new ideas:
notboring.jpg
With DVD-lab 2.0 we can use the new Perspective transformation tool to create unusual menus. On the image above, all text is still fully editable and even if you change it, the perspective will remain correct thanks to the new Package object. Similarly to Real-DRAW, the Package object will greatly simplify any complex design.

  1. Pyro Says:

Thank you so much for DVD-Lab!

This masterpiece is the only legally usable & easily effordable REAL DVD authoring software in which you can do almost all which comes in your mind. ALL OTHER so called DVD software on the market is simply to limited, to bad, to much memory consuming, to incompatible, to ugly, to uncomfortable - or simply not payable for most persons and semi pro video producers.

With the features mentioned for DVD-Lab 2 (especially compatible slide shows, smart compile, multi angle) this masterpiece of software will break any limitation and will be simply rule the DVD market.

One again: thank you, please keep up your perfect work and don’t give up your independence!

  2. erwin arambulo Says:

I’m planning to purchase your DVD-lab Pro, can I upgrade later on to this new version? Will it be better to just wait for this new one?
I like your present Pro 1.53, it supports dts. However, I can’t find a software that can edit dts files to complement your software dts capabilities. Can you also advise me on what to get?

  3. Sincy Says:

when can we expect a peek ?.

  4. Thomas Cunningham Says:

I’m planning to upgrade from DVD-lab Standard to DVD-lab Pro 1.53 Could I just upgrade to DVD-lab Pro 2 instead and How?

  5. Neil Wilkes Says:

Really looking forward to this new version.
It will definitely be a “must buy” on release day for me.

  6. Oscar Says:

We are nearly 90% done on most of the features except multiple angles (50%). We have to make all 100% before it is ready for public testing as it makes no sense to test features we know are not completed. However things during this cycle tends to be quick. For example two days ago I successfully tested multiple-angles with just one audio stream, now we have to add multiple audio, subtitles and then do some data safety when the angles videos are not the same length .. etc.
So basically in a principle everything from the above list already works to some extent.

  7. Gary Yeo Says:

    I’m ready -:-

  8. Benoît Labourdette Says:

    Hi Oscar,

    Good news ! You’re always brilliant !

I noticed two possible minor improvments for DLP v2 :
    - Cloning menus : when links are cloned, links are always here on other menus, but the number of the button where the link links is not memorized, you have to re-assign each number of button in each clone menu.
    - Motion menus : why don’t keep information about the starting Time Code of each clip ? And ability to export sound too.

Did you planned buttons on movies or not yet ?

    Best regards.

    Benoît Labourdette

  9. Neil Wilkes Says:

One thing that for me is seriously noticeable by it’s absence is the ability to write to a DLT tape for mastering output.
Is there any chance of this at all - for me, this is the number 1 “Must Have” feature over & above every other enhancement.
Perhaps 95% of all my work requires DLT mastering.

I’m looking forward to this though.

  10. Oscar Says:

Yes, the buttons on movies are planned and actually this is what we are fighting with currently.

For the DLT I fully agree that it is one of the most essential tool in the mastering process, however same thing as recording or encoding, there are already excellent tools for this available. I gave this a lot of thought and I had to make a choice.
For DLT mastering there is the reliable GEAR ME. If you working with DLT then the cost of it is virtually nothing. Last time I checked the ME is like the cost of 4 DLT tapes. Gear ME is a mastering software so it doesn’t depend on what authoring you did your DVD, and that’s a huge bonus.
If we commit ourselves to make our own DLT, we must ask few very important questions: could we test it as much as Gear did theirs? Would it be as reliable as the Gear’s? Would it work with all DLT drives?
Saying “no” to any of the question makes the whole process pointless. We determined that if we want to make DLT mastering in pair of what Gear has, we cannot make it within current price. We would have to charge same as Gear does.
The fact is that we did create our own DLT code. However we learned from making the DVD recording module that things do not always work by the specs when we talk about different hardware. A bad master is not like a bad burned DVD-r. Would people risk loosing thousands of dollars?
So ultimately the DLT code was put on a back burner, until we have the ability to test it fully and properly.

The next idea was to actually licence the SDK from GEAR and we were indeed looking at this option. Unfortunately the yearly flat licencing fees plus per unit royalties will make such DLT more expensive than the GEAR ME.

So the choice was obvious, let’s focus on the things we can do better or equal but cheaper than others.

  11. Stephen Lee Says:

Oscar, any chance you could comment on the pricing structure for the new DVD-lab Pro 2.0? I just purchased DVD-lab Pro 1.6, and now am wondering what I will have to pay to upgrade. I’m really hoping I won’t have to, but please let me (us) know. Thanks!

  12. Oscar Says:

The pricing options are not yet on the table.
However so far the upgrades were done basically by paying the difference in price or very close to this so I guess this will continue in that fashion. That means there should be no finnatial downside by buying earlier.

The 2.0 should be however more expensive than the 1.x. Feature-wise it will without question beat most of the other DVD authoring software on the market and seriously step on the toes of the absolute top, if you know what I mean.

  13. Ronald Knol Says:

We are currently evaluating DVD-Lab Pro 1.53 and I have to say this is one of the best programs on the market.

I do have one comment (bug?), and two suggestions.

Comment: When I minimize the application, and then later restore it, all windows (e.g. Project, Assets etc) change size and posititon.

Suggestion 1: How about Compiling to a .ISO file?

Suggestion 2: Allow a Scene Selection menu creation from a Branch (chapter play list) object.

Other than these, this is one heck of a program. Great job!

  14. Frank Says:

what about subtitles? can they be rendered at compile time thus saving alot of time.

  15. Dharmin Says:

Awesome, best software ever produced for DVD making.

I have just 1 comment: Is it possible to test/verify the menu links right within the application instead of waiting till the compile (something similar to simple web designing) - can this feature be added if not already there? Thanks

  16. Thomas Smet Says:

Thanks Oscar. After all of this what could be left to add for DVDlab Pro 3?

One thing I would like to see however is an option when rendering motion menus to hold off rendering until you have a series of them made. Then it can go and render all of them at once. I sometimes make a lot of scene selection menus with motion and it gets a little annoying to have to do one and wait to render before I move on to the next one.

  17. Cela Says:

    Thanks Oscar,
sounds like a lot of more pro features for pros! :)

What about more fun features for hobby users?
+ audio preview (with ergonomic navigation like Mpeg2Schnitt)?
    + add/enhance graphical features?
++ versatile (to fullscreen) menu painting window?
++ fill multiple text elements from multiple notepad lines?
++ grouping of graphical elements for resizing, alignement, moving, rotating, etc. ?
+ more functions for Attached External VTS (i.e. preview, chapters, VM commands)?

And, most important, significantly improved, IfoEdit-like quality and stability of compiler for PAL DVB material with open GOPs (reducing the necessity to Attach External VTS) !

  18. Neil Wilkes Says:

    Oscar.
I hear you loud & clear on the DLT situation, and after careful thought have come to the conclusion you are doing the sensible thing.
DLT is a pain in the **** unless it gets limited to specific drives and this would not please people at all.
The really, truly odd thing is that in nearly all replication plants, only DLT 2000 (type III & Type III XT) is guaranteed supported, furthermore it’s a waste of cash buying a 40/80 tape when all you really need is 5Gb, and type III XT is fixed to the 15Gb size and it’s still too big!

    Good move.

I love the button over video part - and being able to use different chapters with different buttons will be great.
I look forward to closing off my book this weekend, and diving into DLP 2 testing fully.

  19. Paul Masters Says:

I got DVD Lab PRO, hoping it would do multi angle. Found out it wouldn’t. But with the programming ability, I could ’sumulate’ it. (You have to return to the menu to set a switch - not very user friendly.)
    .
I already had Sony DVD Architect. When they came out with version 3 saying it could do multi angle I was extactic! It’s been nearly a year since it was released. While it does multi angle in some simple situations, it took me over 6 months to get them to listen to me about a problem with multi angle and chapters (the multi angle works - the chapters don’t). I still have not heard from them about a fix.
    .
I like DVDLP much better. I like the control the programming gives when it is needed. Now I can’t wait for multi angle!.
    .
I will be checking here every week to see if it it’s available. I also check the Sony site every week. (Wonder who is going to be first!?)
    .
PS. Where can I find information on the PRO extensions? I see it mentioned but haven’t found information about it - what it does - how much it costs etc.
    .
    Thanks.
    .
    Paul Masters

  20. Homer Says:

I too would like to say there is no better DVD authoring software out. I use DVDLab Standard but have previewed pro and would love to upgrade. One thing that is keeping me from it is the lack of the alternate compile method for non-compliant DVDs like standard has. Is there any chance of bringing that feature to Pro? I know it won’t be playable in certain players and all of that but the fact is, there are still those of us that need it rather than lose quality by re-encoding. I would really like to use some of the more advanced features of pro.

  21. Kallasways Says:

Sounds great Oscar can’t wait, 2.0 sounds nice however I wish you guys would add special effects to the list, meaning not having to use vegas or other programs to do some nice looking hollywood style menus. Also a way to have the motion menu take any shape so that it can go inside of objects (pictures and so on).

  22. jimbucc Says:

    Oscar,
Great news. Looking forward to the upgrade.
Have you addressed the user interface issues - mostly the undo feature for the menu editor. This is still a problem in 1.6.

  23. macchi picchu Says:

Hi, I love DVDlab. But, I have some suggestions for you guys to include in the upcoming upgrade, if possible:

    1. more “adobe photoshop”-type of flexibility in creating menus. (e.g. ability to resize the height ONLY and not always in scale..)

    2. more colors in the color palette in the menu section (i.e. selected/activated button)

    Thanks!!

  24. Dmitri Says:

Great news! Hopefully the interface won’t change much in comparison with the 1.5. Can’t wait for the 2.0… and in the meantime, I’ll spread the news :).

  25. Steven Pribilinskij Says:

Will it be finally possible to create Transitions and Render Motion Menus, (especially those with Motion Buttons, when there are 100 Chapter Thumbnails should be in motion), through labTALK?
Will labTALK contain all UI functions for fast and easy productions? Without labTALK enhancements, without script-projects, it’s sad, but DLP2 will not be one of the best authoring tool :(
    Please, tell about labTALK…

  26. Pancapangrawit Says:

Great News! I’m very much looking forward to MULTI-ANGLE!!

It’s a rarely used feature, but I think mainly because most people are not aware of it’s potential! Too accustomed to passive TV-watching.

    Best
    .p.

  27. ROBERT O'NEILL Says:

Excellent programme-downloaded the trial version of pro. The integrated menu features save a lot of time. I am sure the addition of video buttons and multi-angles will establish it as an outstanding product. I have used multi-angles in scenarist for a recent, and it astounded the customers. The multi-PGC feature was essential in creating a longer multi angle project as it kept crashing when using a one long mutli angle track.

  28. HHM Says:

Great news! Will it also include seemless branching?
And please, if still possible, add an option to change font size of user interface. With high resolution the layout is often hard to read.

  29. ADAM RA Says:

How much is going to be the diference for users like me with a DVDLab Pro Licence? Still some stuff uncovered on the DVD specs?

Please answer my question. Thanks. Your program is the best from the beggining to today.

  30. Ian Gillan Says:

Will version 2.0 be able to simulate a complete dvd remote, such as skip/search/menu/topmenu buttons?

    Would be great!

    Ian

  31. Ian Gillan Says:

How’s about previewing video streams (timelines) and menus in version 2.0?
Means the capability to send these elements to graphic card’s overlay for preview it on a customer tv during the authoring process.

    Thanx!

    Ian

  32. Hippo Says:

    Hi, Oscar!

I´m watching the development of DVDLab Pro since the release of the first beta and I think it´s really the best authoring software for really small money.

At the time we work with Sonic Scenarist and are a little bit disgusted about the annoying user-interface and -of course- the price.

But, just as Neil Wilkes said some weeks ago, DLP has no mastering abilities. No problem so far, as long as you only handle DVD-5 projects. Then you can do the mastering with Gear ME or Sonic ROM Formatter easily.

Maybe I´m too stupid, but I tried often and hard, and I could not manage to put out a dual layer master on DLT from VOB-files generated with DLP; neither with Gear (we got V6.05) nor with ROM Formatter (which we´ve got in V3.1).

It even would be very helpful, if DLP could put out a DVD-9 as two DDP-Images, which our replicator would accept if delivered on external HDD.

We sure would buy several licenses of DLP if it only would do the mastering.

    So long,
    Marcus-T. “Hippo” Maier

  33. Oscar Says:

    Marcus
I use Gear ME (v. 7) and had no problem creating DVD-9 then sending it to DLT. All you need to do is to follow their step by step description for creating LB found on their site. They also supply excel sheet that does the block calculations. You should ask Tom Vaughan from Gear if you have any troubles using the Gear ME.

  34. Arthur Says:

Will the preview window play the audio????

  35. Vadim Says:

DVD-lab Pro is the best software for DVD authoring ever! I tried many tools, but DVD-lab is the best. Very easy to use and very powerful. But there are some features it lacks. I have to work with subtitles very often, and it’s not very comfortable. When I import for example an .srt subtitle with sentences in italics, , the subtitle properties go back to normal, and I have to change each subtitle properties one by one. And it’s impossible to select multiple subtitles (Ctrl+click) and apply subtitle properties to them. That’s the only inconvenience I have with DVD-lab Pro and it would be great if subtitle editor were more comprehensive.

  36. HHM Says:

It would be extrem great, if menu editor and subtitle editor would support unicode characters and if subtitle editor would also support all colors.

  37. dundee Says:

    Hi,

what about seamless branching in DVDlab Pro 2.0?

  38. Ingmar Jørgensen Says:

Thanks - this really is great news!
Do you plan version 2 to be multilingual?

  39. Steve Alexander Says:

DVDLab Pro is a fantastic product. I’m looking forward to v2.0 - when is it expected to be available?

  40. Charlie Trax Says:

This is simply the best DVD authoring soft for beginners, because it doesn’t require all knowledge from the start on.
The instructive help pdf and the forum with all the nice and helpful people gathering around Oscar’s fire is a unique example of consumer-friendliness. In sum: this is the people’s DVD authoring tool, and to work with DVDlabPRO is pure, creative fun!
I can’t wait for the new upgrade!

  41. meikel Says:

Yes, DVDLab Pro is a fantastic product.
But, is it possible to have a full preview mode, to check all links and Clips in realtime …?
    Like Adobe Encore DVD 2

This would be a very nice feature to control the hole dvd before compiling.
    WYSIWYG!

  42. Tyler Says:

blu-ray support, otherwise, 2.0 will soon be outdated I fear…

    cheers
    tyler

  43. ricky Says:

Is it going to be relesed or not? if yes, when?

  44. Luciano Says:

DVD-Lab Pro é demais, eu só uso ele!!
Só falta ser em portugues - BR
    Brasil

  45. Joerg Tochtenhagen Says:

Really looking forward to the 2.0 Version. Especially the Movie Navigation buttons are very interesting for our future products. Please give us a note as soon as the new version or beta will be online. Thanks again for the excellent work.

    Joerg

  46. Marian Says:

As a registered user of DVD Lab Pro, I will definitely upgrade!
    : )

  47. Sineis Says:

It is indeed a great product.

Can you guys add that if I play a DVD in my computer to be able to link to web pages?. Le te me explain my self here. I mean, to create links not only inside the DVD but e mail links and web sites links as well, for example I create a DVD of my company and I would like to add links in my contact information that when the user click on it goes to my web site or an specific page, the same thing will go with the e mail link. That is something I haven’t found yet in my Pro Copy(I am a registered user).
Other than that I am happy with it, the sad part is that I do not know when the 2.0 version will be ready.

  48. Krishnan Says:

This new version must have support for DIVX formats.

This is the best DVD prodution software

  49. yur_k Says:

    Sorry for bad English.
I know, that there is WebDVD format in DVD Forum (or some else). It is like DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, etc.
It will be great, if DVD-lab will be can to author this format too.
    DVD-Lab - B E S T A U T H O R I N G S O F T W A R E ! ! !

  50. Romir Says:

I think I have never enjoyed working with any software as much as I have enjoyed all the releases of DVD LAB. Great stuff, matured, intuitive and fully loaded I just cannot wait for this new upgrade to the PRO2. Would love to see a creation of web links within this software so that the author can include links. Hope an upgrade from the PRO 1 won’t be too expensive. Great job to all at Mediachance.

    Very very satisfied customer!!!

  51. Patryk Says:

can you guys possibly make a feature available so that it will create an audio dvd.

album thumbnails with the titles below it will be on the main tittle screen.

when you select the album it will go into the actual folder and you can then select the songs to be played.

this would be a HUGE thing for the indash screen customers out there on the market including myself because no one has gotten this to work.

    thanks much

  52. Andre Says:

On 4 Of July, Krishman replyed, saying for support for Divx format. Please include this format in 2.0. I work with a lot of Divx formats and would love to be able to place the Divx or a format created from the Divx on a DVD.

  53. Noemi Klee Says:

If there is still no preview for both audio and video, which is MUST have for any music DVD project, this software is not worth $200.

  54. Tim Hawkins Says:

    when When WHEN???? :)

    Eagerly awaiting 2.0!

  55. Derek Says:

I agree that there needs to be better photoshop and adobe after effects (for motion menus) integration. Secondly, I agree with everybody here, it needs realtime preview like in Encore DVD!

  56. Rob Says:

Is there a provisional release date when we can expect to be able to upgrade to version 2?

  57. jonDaniker Says:

I notice that no one has mentioned the ability to be able to apply/switch on/off some form of (CSS)Copy Protection, this would help those of us who produce our own Video DvD’s and don’t want it copied. It shouldn’t be hard to include this within the software! Will version 2, incorporate this feature?

  58. init Says:

hopefully, audio auditioning for the preview window will be implemented!
this would be so very helpful wtih setting chapter marks correctly.
    regards

  59. Steve P. Says:

Just to chime in, please support HD-DVD and BluRay!!!

  60. Thorr Says:

Is it possible to make subtitle’s support in slide-show projects?

  61. HJ Freund Says:

I have just bought DVDlabPro and have already intensively worked on some projects while using DVDlabPro. The software is just not “too bad” but would, of course, need several professional improvements. If you buy DVDlabPro you expect certainly something special as you just don’t want to author some projects presenting “my last vacation in Spain” or “my granny’s 90th anniversary” (as often stated in your manual as an example for “Scene Menus”). Such features can easily be done in NERO VISION which you get even free (!) with your Nero burning software or similar programs. I experienced several useless features in DVDlabPro while “learning by doing” (as the manual needs URGENT improvement!).
    Example:
I really didn’t get your meaning of setting “delayed buttons” in an Motion Menu. When trying to operate this feature I quickly learned that the buttons are actually not delayed (a delay would, of course, mean that the buttons are not visible for a certain time when the Menu starts). What actually happens is that just the coloured activation of the buttons is delayed, the buttons themselves are still visible as they had been merged with the motion menu displayed on the screen. So what’s this all good for? Why not implementing a feature where the buttons are really invisible being delayed and fading in after a while? This would, of course, necessitate to detach the rendered video from the originally created menu (texture and buttons) in order to combine them afterwards.

Addionally to that you should make DVDlabPro a bit more comfortable to work with. Why is it, e.g., not possible to group objects in a menu in order to copy and paste them? This feature can be regarded as a “BASIC” even available in freeware programs. As far as I experienced, you can’t even cut any object! Why don’t you, e.g., provide any fading in menus (where a menu can smoothly fade in or out)? The transitions you can, of course, use for a fading between two menus do not work properly as far as motion menus are concerned (the video shakes and is fully visible at the transition point).

Now, as you are working on your new 2.0 version of DVDlab, you announce the ability of operating 30 cells in each menu and other new features. But what’s this all good for, if some of the basic features (see above) are still not available? What’s the advantage of having 30 cells in a menu, if just one or two do not work as you certainly would expect from an authoring software of 199,00 bucks?

These are just a few examples. So, as I am still missing quite a lot of professional and properly working features in DVDlabPro being announced as a professional authoring tool, I would suggest you to start thinking of improving the fundamentals and providing more basic tools, such as simple fadings (!) and more comfortable handling. This should not be a big deal for professional programmers, I guess.

So let’s hope for an accurate and more professionally orientated 2.0 version!

    Greetings from Germany

    HJ Freund

Oscar where are you and when came pro 2.0?

    you are the best

  63. Peter Says:

    Hi,

I just found out that there is a new version out. Does v2.0 fix the lack of previewing video and audio at the same time? I didn’t find anything about in the changelog. This would be the most important new feature (for me).

    Cheers
    Peter

    Keep Going on

  67. Sunil Says:

    Hi,
Disappointed not to see a preview feature.
Although the actual output may be different from the previewed raw video, nevertheless it gives an idea and also a chance to fix certain things (for example typos in subtitles).
Also, where can I find a detailed description of smart compile.
Does it let you change the Menu without re-authoring the entire VOB file/s again?
    Thanks.

when is processing subtitles an “out of memory” error occurs even when i have enough memory both fisical and virtual.

  69. Mr. DVD Says:

A quick improvement i would lke to see is….
    - Menu transitions like in Adobe encore
In encore we can use a video as a transition from one menu to another, and it is lacking in DVD lab pro.

Hope you guys would make it possible soon as possible, then this can make a great future compared to Encore… :)

  70. Lucas Gio Says:

    1. When is multiplexing an “out of virtual memory” occurs.
    2. Video and subtitle are not syncro when DVD is created. I don’t have this problem with same subtitle and video in version 1.53

  71. kjam Says:

Great product, but again I can’t preview demuxed audio streams. But still great app.

  72. Lucas Gio Says:

Im a beginner in dvd authoring and tried many tools but dvdlab pro 2 gave me the best results. Its easy to learn, fast, intuitive, it is professional in a very easy way. Im really planning to buy the license because i have only used the 30 day evaluation version.

You appear to have added a fair bit of bloat in the compiling with ths new version. Exactly the same compiles are coming out ~15MB larger with v2.1 than with v1.6. The difference is only slight in terms of the capacity of a blank DVD but it makes a big difference to the number I use out of my DVD bitrate calculator to fill a disc. This is NOT an improvement at all.

I have been using 1.53 for some time and it is a great product. I would like to upgrade and currently evaluating 2.1. I have been testing multiple angles and have created multiple multi-angle movies in separate VTSs. I can link them with the Bridges and it work fine even with chapter selection. i.e. you can move forward with remote keys from one VTS to the next. However, there is no method to program it to jump to the previous movie (which is in a different VTS) when skipping backwards. Is there a solution for this? Thanks very nuch.

I have been evaluating DVDLab Pro 2, incl. upgrade fix, the program in whole is all cool, and I would immediately buy it, but that subtitling engine has cost me a day and half of just trying and trying, but it’s totally buggy and altogether useless, the color mapping function assigns the wrong functions to the colors so they come out all wrong, and the upgrade fix only works so so for bitmap based subs, but not for vector based outlines, and then you got that working somehow, only to find the timings are all mess up! What were you thinking Oscar, didn’t you test this function at all? And how about mentioning in the help file, that working with MaestroSBT and .son files is a way to import a bitmap sequence, instead of leaving the impression that in DVDLab PRO you have to import subtitle bitmaps one by one manually? Anyhow, with the subtitling engine so messed up, much as I hate to say it, but that’s making the “PRO” in the name wither, as a pro I need a reliable application.
That “stop compile” button is useless, too, because it doesn’t do it.

instead of wasting your time here erasing the complaints about the malfunctioning subtitle engine in dvdlapsus “PRO” v.2, you had better sit down and fix the damn problem. - I still love the program and appreciate your work. regards

WHY DON’T YOU IMPROVE SUBTITLE ENGINE? I’M WORKING WITH SUBTITLE WORKSHOP BUT NO MATHER WHAT FORMAT I CHOOSE DLP REJECT EVERY ITALIC I MADE. COULD YOU, FCS!, IMPROVE THE SUBTITLE ENGINE?? IT’S A SHAME THAT A SOFT THAT CARRIE PRO IN HIS NAME DON’T HANDLE SUBTITLES LIKE A PRO.

This version load a subtitles with italics character?

I hope this is right forum to ask question. I cannot find any other.
I have DLP2.0. I do not understand Subtitle “Margin Change”
I can change position of the subtitle text in Margins (Left half of the window). If I decrease “Bottom” number black part of the screen in Preview moves up and compiled text is lower on DVD. If I change “Top” number nothing happen in preview.
On right side “Base line Alignment” by changing “Middle Margin” number to smaller value, black screen in preview go up. Highlighting “Bottom Margin” and changing number nothing happen?
Can you explain how this suppose to work?
Other thing is transition “Page curl reverse” is OK in preview, but when DVD is compiled it get stuck for a while in upper right corner before finish. “Page Curl” is OK.

    Hey Oscar,

First, Wow! This software is really a piece or art.Thank you man.

I have a wish if you could fulfil I would be most greatful. I hope you can make the text entry box compatible with Arabic text, the text shows just wonderfully after you press enter, but while in the mode of enetering text on menus you have to guess what you are typing as it show garbbled text.

Anyway thank you for DVD-lab pro 2, it is the only one that has support for Arabic menu editing, and fully. I guess my wish should not be too hard on a master like you, right? Bye.

  82. Joseph Says:

    Hi Oscar
I do not know if this is fixable, but I give it a chance.
    This is a situation:
I have a long movie with 9 stories on it. I use chapters and chapter play list (branch) to play each chapter and at the end of each chapter return to menu.
When I do subtitles on the movie they will play if I play movie, I have Subtitles ON in editor checked, but will not play if I play chapters (branch). Only way they play, if I add a command to each branch after Abstraction layer.
When I check movie VM command, subtitles in Abstraction layer are turned OFF even thou Subtitles in editor are checked ON.
If I add the same command to movie, chapters (branch) still not play subtitles.
